Lily isn’t a Patron but they’re still pretty cool. I heard they were the top flyer on their all harpy stunt squad. Yeah it’s a little sad not having hands, but they would just get in the way of pulling off more sweet flips!
Ena is one of those trippy animations where a coherent story isn’t needed. It reminds me of those old videos like Salad Fingers or Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared where everything is just weird. There was an explosive age of nonsense when the internet was young where Badger Badger was inexplicably popular and a song about a horse tasting like raisins was a vibrant and new idea. There was a lot of absolute garbage back then and the difference between trash and gold wasn’t always clear.
I feel like Ena is the culmination of all that. The animation has a pixelated CDI Zelda vibe to it and every character seems to have a different art style. There’s a reference to Windows 3D Maze screensaver that makes the 2D animation on top feel like the pixel art from Doom. There’s a Rubix Cube, low poly objects, and wireframes. The whole thing is so strange and yet so familiar to anyone who grew up with all these things. It makes me assume that there is some sort of logic to this world even if there might not be.
