I remember a time when I didn’t want to watch Avatar because I thought it was just another cash grab by westerners at the anime aesthetic. I thought “Wow, here’s a bunch of white guys trying to be cool.” Then I actually watched the show and boy was I wrong. I think my favorite part other than the amazing characters, is the way each new place they go to feels distinct. The world feels so expansive and each culture feels real. I really liked The Painted Lady. It was intense and scary while showing off Katara as a complex character. I guess it’s hard to say what my absolute favorite episode was. They are all so good.
