My favorite underappreciated character in Hunter X Hunter is Zepile, the forger dude who teaches Gon about antiques. There usually isn’t a lot at stake in his episodes compared to some of the more action packed arcs, but he brings a lot of heart to each situation he’s in and is a great example of the Badass Normal trope done right. Gon and Killua are undoubtedly stronger than him, but he manages to teach them skills that they can make their own. Yeah he’s basically teaching kids how to con people, but he’s upfront about it. I love how honest he is about his forgeries and how he finds the motivation to take the Hunter Exam in the end. I also think that out of all the super powers in Hunter Hunter, I would love to have the ability to use Gyo to find original works of art. I like antiques and the thought of making money at big auctions is enticing for me. Auction houses aren’t very common settings in fiction, so it was great to see the process so well explored with such a fantastic character as a guide.

Hmm, maybe I should have chosen a more saturated yellow for Kurapika’s hair… I’ll leave that up to you guys. What Nen power would you want an would it change if you knew you were the only one to have a Nen power?
