This is one of the first cross stitch patterns I’ve ever made, back when I thought combining two sprites was so innovative. I actually sold this on Etsy back in the day when I didn’t realize copyright was a thing and it sold pretty well despite being kind of lame. I still do have an Etsy shop where I sell generic cross stitch patterns. I’m pretty proud of my shop, so check it out. I do customs for $9 and if you want something fandom related I have that as a $10 reward on my Patreon.
Shameless plugging aside, The Little Mermaid was my favorite Disney movie growing up. I love how adventurous and curious Ariel is. I felt instantly attached to her from that first scene where she sneaks onto a sunken ship just to explore. I love movies with the theme of trying new things and if I had been born later I might have been really into Up or Brave. As it is, I do love those movies, but they don’t hold the same significance as The Little Mermaid does. There was just something about life underwater that really captured my imagination. I even had that awkward sequel that they probably could have done a lot more with, but oh well.
I love this one! I asked the wife to teach me how to do cross stitching just because of this blog. Thank you for all the amazing patterns!
