My Patron, Sarah B, is an ancient water spirit who watches over travelers who stop by their desert oasis. Recently, some people have decided to live there permanently and have erected a small shrine to Sarah B.
It’s been a long time since I’ve really enjoyed a Star Wars movie. I mean, I’ve seen almost all of them and I don’t regret going to see them, but the films don’t really capture my imagination like they used to. Honestly, my most vivid memories of Star Wars are from playing the original Battlefront or Lego Star Wars rather than anything in theaters. I remember helping a friend make a cosplay for the Mandalorian Mercs and I remember playing with my brother’s FX lightsaber. The movies always seemed secondary to the idea of Star Wars.
I’ve been told that the new Mandalorian show is a very different take on the series, brand new music, new characters, and I should give it a try. Is it worth getting a Disney+ subscription? Eh, maybe not. Am I still going to happily participate in the Star Wars cultural zeitgeist? You bet!
